Location of Tungnath
Tungnath temple is adorned in the mountain range of Tungnath, just below the Chandrashila Peak in the Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand. It is located in the periphery of the Kedarnath Wildlife Sanctuary.
How to Reach Tungnath
Chopta is the place from where a mild 3.5 kms the trek to Tungnath starts. It is situated in the middle of the Gopeshwar-Guptkashi route connecting Kedarnath to Badrinath shrine.

By Road: Tungnath can be approached from Kund-Gopeshwar road up to Chopta about 212 km from Rishikesh via the Chamoli-Gopeshwar-Chopta route. Buses and taxi service are easily available along the route. From Chopta, you have to take the short 3 km trek route to reach the Tungnath temple.
By Rail: Rishikesh railway station located at a distance of 205 km from Tungnath is the nearest.
By Air: The Jolly Grant airport at 223 km from Tungnath is the closest airport.
