Uttarakhand Civil Aviation Development Authority (UCADA) and the tourism department of Uttarakhand started the “Himalaya Darshan by Helicopter” initiative, under which upto 5 passengers can take a 10-12 minutes helicopter tour for Himalaya Darshan and enjoy views of some beautiful Himalayan peaks of the Garhwal Himalayas at just Rs 3000 per person.
Approx 45 persons availed of these services on the first day which is 25 January 2021. This Auli Helicopter ride started from Ravigram Helipad and flying over picturesque locations near Joshimath.

The best time to enjoy the Himalaya Darshan helicopter ride in Auli is during the winter (December to March) and spring months (April to June). During winter, tourists can enjoy breathtaking snow-covered peaks, while in summer, the clear skies offer stunning panoramic views of the Garhwal Himalayas. Morning hours are ideal as weather conditions are usually stable and visibility is better.
During the helicopter ride, tourists can enjoy aerial views of some of the most famous peaks of the Garhwal Himalayas including Nanda Devi, Hathi Parvat, Ghori Parvat, and Kamet peak.
