Kainchi Dham Foundation Day is observed every year on 15 June to commemorate the establishment of the Kainchi Dham Ashram by Neem Karoli Baba in 1962. The annual celebration attracts thousands of devotees from India and abroad, who visit the ashram to participate in prayers, seek blessings, and attend the traditional bhandara (community feast).
Kainchi Dham was established on 15 June 1962 by Neem Karoli Baba and has since become one of the most visited spiritual centres in Uttarakhand. The Foundation Day marks the anniversary of the ashram's establishment and is regarded as the most important annual event at Kainchi Dham.
On this day, devotees gather to offer prayers, attend religious ceremonies, and receive prasad. The occasion reflects the values of selfless service, devotion, and simplicity that Neem Karoli Baba emphasized throughout his life.
Morning Prayers and Havan: The celebrations begin with special pujas, Vedic chanting, and havan performed inside the temple complex.
Bhandara: A large community meal is organised throughout the day, where thousands of devotees are served free prasad irrespective of caste, religion, or background.
Bhajan and Kirtan: Devotional singing continues during the day, creating a spiritual atmosphere across the ashram.
Darshan: Devotees visit the temple dedicated to Neem Karoli Baba and Hanuman Ji to seek blessings on this auspicious occasion.
The 64th Foundation Day of Kainchi Dham was celebrated on 15 June 2026 with thousands of devotees from across India and abroad gathering at the ashram.
