How to reach Har ki Dun Valley?

For Har ki Doon Trek, one has to reach the quaint village of Sankri which is located 200 km from Dehradun. The next day from Sankri, you can hire a jeep/taxi to Taluka, one can also go by trek as well. From Seema to Har ki Doon the route is steep and it descends for just a couple of kilometers before reaching Har ki Dun. 

There are various modes of transportation available to reach Sankri from Dehradun, as mentioned below:

  • By Road: Dehradun is well connected with major northern cities via motorable roads, trains & flights. Every morning at 6-8 am there are few buses to Sankri leaves from outside Dehradun Railway Station. Roadways buses takes 9-10 hours to reach Sankri and most of the direct ply early in the morning from Dehradun. You can also book a cab to Sankri from Dehradun in 7-8 hours as well.

  • By Rail: The Dehradun Railway Station is well-connected with various major Indian cities like Delhi, Lucknow and Kolkata etc. The frequency of trains to Dehradun is quite high as it is the gateway to the Garhwal region of Uttarakhand.
