Taluka is a small picturesque hamlet located at a distance of 12 kms through drive or trek from Sankri. It lies on the way of Hark ki Dun trek. You can either start the Har ki Dun trek from Sankri itself or you can hire a jeep/taxi from Sankri to Taluka and start your trek from Taluka.

Taluka Village in Har ki Dun Trek

Whether you book a vehicle or trek towards Taluka, you’ll instantly be captivated upon reaching the village. The road leading to Taluka is very scenic too. Cluster of houses made with beautiful wooden and stone materials line together at the heart of the majestic Himalayas and a diverse range of flora and fauna. The gushing river across the village adorns the landscape altogether.

There is a temple which is said to have been dedicated to Duryodhan. However, now the temple is dedicated to Lord Someshwar, a form of Lord Shiva.

Location & How to Reach Taluka Village

Taluka is located just 12 kms from Sankri. Though Sankri is connected to Taluka with a motorable road, buses and taxis from Delhi and major cities of Uttarakhand cover the distance till Sankri. From Sankri you can either book a vehicle or trek up to Taluka.

Buses from Dehradun leave for Sankri early in the morning. The distance from Dehradun to Sankri is 200km. If you miss the bus, you can take buses for Mori or Purola and then take a private/shared taxi to Sankri.
