Q. Can we book tickets for Kedarnath heli service from the counter at Sirsi or Pahata?
A. It is very unlikely that you will be able to get a ticket from the offline counter at Sirsi or Phata as they are hugely in demand. We advise to book them in advance online through IRCTC heliyatra website only. Beware of fake websites/ agents claiming to offer you guaranteed ticket.

Q. Can we reach Kedarnath from Haridwar in a single day?
A. Yes, you can but it will be very hectic journey and prior helicopter booking should be there.

A. The distance from Haridwar to Kedarnath is approx 250km including a trekking distance of approx 18kms. While you can reach Gaurikund from Haridwar the same day (234kms) but you wouldn't be able to trek the entire 18kms the same day to reach Kedarnath temple. You can stay at Gaurikund or Sonprayag overnight and start off early for Kedarnath the next day. Also, due to drastic change of altitudes between Haridwar and Kedarnath, it is always advisable to spend overnight at Sonprayag or Gaurikund.
