After visiting the nearby temples, Bheem started climbing the mountain. Suddenly a divine voice from the sky tells him that if he wishes his name to be remembered for generations, he should erect a Shiva temple out of devotion. A true Shiva devotee, Bheem erects a Shiva temple on the mountain and uses his mace to make a hole in the mountain from where the Ganges pours into the lake, which is why it is known as Bhimtal.
