Located on the banks of River Ganga in Swargashram, Geeta Bhawan is one of the most famous ashrams and dharamshalas of Rishikesh. 2. Parmarth Niketan
Founded in 1942 by Pujya Swami Sukhdevanandji, Parmarth Niketan is a well renowned ashram in Rishikesh located on the banks of River Ganges. Parmarth Niketan provides a serene and peaceful environment to the pilgrims with its beautiful, clean, and serene atmosphere.
Parmarth Niketan offers economic accommodation facilities for pilgrims along with daily yoga, morning prayers & meditation, daily satsang, kirtan, ayurvedic treatment, and Ganga aarti. 3. Sivananda Ashram
Situated near Ram Jhula, Sivananda Ashram was started by Swami Sivananda. The prominent feature of this ashram is its meditation and yoga classes. A large number of people visit the ashram and engage in their yoga and meditation courses.
Along with yoga and meditation, the ashram provides Dharamshala facilities to pilgrims visiting Rishikesh. Healthy vegetarian food is served to the pilgrims.
Sivananda Ashram is also known as the Divine Life Society. The society is engaged in various educational and social works. It organizes Personality Development Camps for children and youth, provides medical facilities to poor patients through Sivananda Charitable Hospital, cares about the handicapped and hopeless patients at Sivananda Home, and supports three leper colonies of Brahmapuri, Laxman Jhula, and Dhalwala in Rishikesh.

4. Baba Kali Kamli Vanaprastha Ashram
Set amidst lush greenery and founded by Baba Kali Kamli Wale, Baba Kali Kamli Vanaprastha Ashram is a serene ashram ideal for pilgrims who wish to spend a peaceful time at Rishikesh. Baba Kali Kamli is revered for the rigorous penance that he had undertaken to please Goddess Kali. Pleased by his devotion, he was granted a wish upon which he asked Goddess Kali to reside at the very place where he conducted his penance. A temple named Baba Kali Kamli Wale Ji temple which is dedicated to Goddess Kali was built here.
Baba Kali Kamli was famously known by this name as he always wrapped a black colored blanket around him (kali = black, kamli = blanket).

7. Swami Dayananda Ashram
Set at a peaceful location on the banks of River Ganga, Swami Dayananda Ashram is the parent Vedanta Institute of the Arsha Vidya Gurukulam group. The ashram is renowned for its course on Vedanta and Sanskrit, the ashram includes a spacious lecture hall overlooking River Ganga, a temple, a library with more than 5000 titles, and a yoga studio. Swami Dayananda Ashram also holds many events regularly.
