Kuti village is a culturally vibrant village with over 115 traditional houses.  It is one among the 73 villages of Dharchula Block of Pithoragarh district. This place is a major halt for people proceeding to the Adi Kailash trek.

The village Kuti is named after Kunti (Mother of the Pandavas). It is said that Kunti stayed at this place for a long time. This place is not less than a dream for trekkers, mountaineers, adventure seekers, sightseers and nature lovers. Awe-inspiring view of lush greenery surrounded by tall peaks under the blue sky will leave you stunned. The real beauty lies in the authenticity of this place and its people. Bhotia tribes are main inhabitants of the village. These tribes have beautifully preserved their rich heritage. Your trip becomes more delightful when you sit and taste the regional food with these tribe people.

Trek to Kuti village, Pithoragarh

The trek to Kuti village of Dharchula region of Pithoragarh starts from Mangti Nala. Here is a short info about the route:

  • Dharchula - Tawaghat - Pangla - Mangti Nala  ( 34 km by road ).
  • Mangti Nala - Gala - Budhi ( 22 km by Trek )
  • Budhi Village - Gunji village ( 23 km by Trek )
  • Gunji Village to Kuti Village ( 19 Km by Trek )

Total trekking distance - 64 km One side

Note 1: From Kuti or Kutti village, Joling kong is at a distance of 14 km, the end point for Aadi Kailash Peak.

Note 2 :  Gunji is the common village for both Aadi Kailash Trek & Kailash Mansarover or Om Parvat. The left route takes pilgrims towards Jolikong for Adi Kailash trek and right trek leads towards Liphulekh pass to Mansarover.
