Thetrek to Har ki Dun starts from Sankri. Jaundhar Glacier is 6kms from Har ki Dunand the trek to the glacier takes about 7-8 hours. As you move from thebeautiful valley of Har ki Dun towards Jaundhar Glacier you’ll be accompanied bybreathtaking rock formations and shades of mountains so intense and diverse that’ll make you wonder at the wonders of nature. Apart from the occasional ridge-sand rubbles, and the rocky terrain there aren’t much difficulties as you move further.
Jaundhar Glacier is very close to the base of Swargarohini peak. The lofty peak overlooking the glaciers around adds to the charm of the place. A trek to Jaundhar Glacier is bound to leave you with an ecstatic experience.
You can start your trek to Jaundhar Glacier from Sankri or from Taluka village of Uttarkashi. Both villages comes under G.B Pant National Park. Direct morning bus service from Dehradun to Sankri are available from Dehradun railway station. From Sankri, you can start trek towards Har ki Dun valley from where this glacier is about 3km far.
