Uttarakhand has taken a pioneering step in the tourism sector with the launch of Uttarastays (www.uttarastays.com) a state-sponsored homestay booking portal.
Initiated by the Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board (UTDB), this platform marks the first of its kind in India, offering a seamless online booking experience for nearly 5,000 registered homestays across the state.
The portal allows homestay owners to list their properties without any integration fees, platform charges, or revenue-sharing obligations, a unique feature designed to support local entrepreneurs.
Owners can register by providing property details and signing an agreement, gaining access to a broader audience while retaining full control over their earnings. The platform also enables visitors to rate their experiences, providing real-time feedback to owners to enhance service quality.
Uttarakhand Tourism is committed to boosting the local economy through this initiative, which aligns with the Deendayal Upadhyay Homestay Scheme. This scheme offers subsidies for infrastructure development and provides training to owners to improve customer service skills, ensuring a high standard of hospitality.
The portal’s user-friendly interface covers diverse destinations, from Karnaprayag to Pithoragarh, showcasing a variety of accommodations like apartments, bungalows, treehouses, and cottages.
Uttarastays is more than a booking platform; it’s a movement to empower local communities while inviting travelers to experience authentic Uttarakhand hospitality. For the latest updates or to book a stay, visit www.uttarastays.com.
