Online Registration for Valley of Flowers started

Now tourists can register online to visit the world-famous Valley of Flowers. For the upcoming tourist season, the forest department has launch website for issuing permit online. Tourists can now apply Valley of Flowers permit through the website https://valleyofflower.uk.gov.in, and they can also download the permit.

This year the park administration has earned more than 39 lakhs rupees. 19436 tourists came to the valley, including 330 foreign tourists. Next year, we may see rise in the number of tourists for Valley of Flowers.

New road from Pulna to Bhyundar will reduce Valley of Flowers, Hemkund trek by 7 kms

The Centre has granted in-principle approval for the construction of a 7.2 kms road linking Pulna to Bhyundar village in Chamoli district. Officials said the road, once completed, will shave off around 7 kms from the trekking route to the valley of flowers.

From Bhyndar Valley, one has to trek only 5 kms to reach Ghangaria (the base of of both Valley of Flowers Trek and Hemkund Sahib Trek) once the road is constructed.

However, experts view this milestone not as a cause for celebration but as a concern due to the delicate nature of the valley. They emphasize the urgent need for a policy that imposes a cap on the number of visitors to this ecologically sensitive area.
