Chinyalisaur Airport or Chinyalisaur Airstrip is one of the most beautiful airport of India. Situated on the bank of Awe-inspiring Tehri lake and surrounded by the lush green mountains Chinyalisaur Airport also offers a 360 degree souvenir nature to the travellers. This airport is also known as Bharkot Airport and lies on the way of Gangotri dham in Uttarkashi distrit of Uttarakhand. It's name Chinyalisaur comes from the nearby village called 'Chinyali' and 'Saur' which mean plain in Garhwali.
The main purpose of Constructing this airport is to cater to the needs of tourist and pilgrim traffic to the region (mainly duingg Char Dham Yatra), but lay unused as air charter companies did not start operations to the area. The Indian Air Force also uses the airstrip as an Advanced Landing Ground (ALG).
