Indian leg-spinner Kuldeep Yadav is set to marry his childhood friend Vanshika Chadha in Mussoorie on Saturday, with pre-wedding celebrations already underway at WelcomHotel The Savoy.

The couple arrived at the venue on Friday, where a mehndi ceremony was held in the presence of close family members and friends. Several current and former cricketers attended the event, including Suresh Raina, Yuzvendra Chahal, and Rinku Singh, along with India’s fielding coach T Dilip.

The Uttarakhand Food Festival 2025, held as part of the Winterline Carnival in Mussoorie, is celebrating the state’s rich hill cuisine and cultural heritage. The festival features a variety of food stalls offering authentic Uttarakhand dishes, allowing tourists and locals to experience traditional flavours passed down through generations.

Alongside culinary delights, visitors are enjoying folk dance performances, live band music, and interactive cultural activities, making the festival a vibrant blend of tradition, taste, and tourism. The event is further strengthening Uttarakhand’s identity as a cultural and culinary destination during the winter season.

The Winterline Carnival in Mussoorie attracted large crowds on its opening day and Thursday, with tourists gathering at key locations across the hill town. Visitors enjoyed traditional folk songs and dance performances at Gandhi Chowk and Shaheed Sthal.

As part of the carnival celebrations, several activities were organised, including trekking and bird-watching at Municipal Garden and a visit to the Cartography Museum at Sir George Everest House, adding to the festive atmosphere.

Mussoorie will host its first Landour Literature and Arts Festival 2025 on September 28, offering a blend of literature, art, music, poetry, and cinema in a serene mountain setting. The festival will be held from 12 noon to 9 p.m. at Cafe Ivy (Bunny Pearl) near Deodar Woods Hotel, Sister Bazaar.

Jointly organised by The Chakkar and the Mussoorie Heritage Centre, the festival aims to connect people through creative expression while promoting a spirit of healing, solidarity, and cultural reflection in the aftermath of natural disasters.

From August 1, 2025, all tourists visiting Mussoorie must register online via the official website, as mandated by the National Green Tribunal (NGT). This aims to protect the hill station’s ecosystem and manage infrastructure. Accommodation providers must also register properties and ensure guest compliance.

Tempo Travellers will be operated in Chardham Yatra route, Kumbh area of Haridwar, Mussoorie, Nainital, Champawat, Auli. Currently, the corporation has only ordinary buses available on the hilly areas and Chardham Yatra routes. The operation of these Tempo Travellers will soon be started in various hill districts.
