Q. Can I take my 7 yr old kid to Chopta trek?
A. Chopta - Tungnath trek is an easy-moderate trek spanning 3.5kms. Kids of that age generally find the trek easy if they are physically active. However, beware that the Chopta is located at an altitude of approx 2700m while Tungnath at 3500m and may be tiring and difficult for kids having any breathing problems. Other than that, Chopta is suitable for all age groups, including the kids. They will enjoy the winters when Chopta is covered with snow :)

Q. Can we visit Chopta in rainy season?
A. The answer is both yes and no!
No because, the roads between Rishikesh and Ukhimath may be blocked if there is heavy rainfall and also the trekking route to Tungnath from Chopta may be slippery.
Yes, becoz the beauty of the hills is unparalleled comparing to any other time of the year

A. While many would advise to avoid visiting Chopta during rainy season but considering the massive greenery, misty weather and numerous waterfalls that come into existence during the monsoon, the place is really a paradise during rainy season. However, beware of landslides and bumpy roads due to heavy rains. Plan your tour with atleast one or two buffer days. Also, if you are scared of leeches, than monsoon is definitely not a time for you to visit Chopta :)
