Bampa is a village situated in Joshimath Tehsil of district Chamoli of Uttarakhand state. It is situated 370 km from Dehradun ( capital of Uttarakhand state) 32 km towards east district headquarters. The famous Panchnaag temple is situated in Bampa Village.

Bampa Village in Joshimath

During winters the inhabitants of Bampa moves to the lower Himalayas in the valley and lives in alternative villages. When snow meltdown in the summers or when the summer season starts Bampa village is again filled with the inhabitants. Generally, Bampa is populated by locals in the month of April- October.

There some other villages near Bampa such as Niti, Gamshali, Farkya, Kailashpur, Malari, Jhelam, Tolma, Fagti, Raini, Timmersen Mahadev, Kosha, Maher Gaun, and Tapovan.
