The Uttarakhand government has allocated Rs 1,000 crore in the 2026–27 state budget for preparations for the Haridwar Kumbh Mela scheduled in 2027. The move is aimed at strengthening infrastructure and arrangements for the major religious gathering.
Along with the Kumbh preparations, the government will also develop infrastructure around 48 temples under the Manaskhand Temple Mala Mission, promoting spiritual tourism across the state.
