The Rishikund Trek is perched at an elevation of 1800m to 4370m. It is a 7 days easy to moderate trek that is one of a kind and depicts an exotic beauty of The Himalayas.

The peak of Rishikund has been explored by a number of trekkers who have explored the Nanda Devi region. The startling and stunning sight of the mighty slopes and the lofty tops of the Himalayas that you will be looking at from Rishikund is one of a kind. 

Some of these peaks are Nandaghunti, Dornagiri, Trishul, Bethar Toli, Devsthan and many more. The Rishikund trek trail takes near about six days of walking from (Joshimath to Joshimath). The entire trek involves walking on a 30km of land. It is an easy to moderate journey which is worth every step.

Best Time to Travel at Rishikund Trek

Best Time to Travel at the Rishikund Trek is during the seasons between April and May as well as September, October and November. The fall months on the other hand provide a very crisp air feel, with little or no haze in the air from humidity.

Suggested Itinerary of Rishikund Trek

Day 1: Haridwar to Joshimath
Distance: 274km, 8-9 hours
Travel from Haridwar to Joshimath as the route is short as compared to travelling from Dehradun.

Day 2: Joshimath to Bhallagaon via Suraithota
Distance: 31km drive, 6km trek
The trekking begins at Bhallagaon. It is a five hour walk until reaching Kurala Camp. Rest overnight here.

Day 3: Kurala Camp to Kantala Camp
Distance: 5km trek
A four hour trek from Kurala Camp to the Kantala Camp. You will have to stay here overnight.

Day 4: Kantala Camp to Rishikund
Distance: 6km trek
Trek from Kantala Camp to Rishikund. It is a 5 hour long trek that will take you to your destination.

Day 5: Explore Rishikund & Sajdhar Top before you head back to the Kantala Camp at night.

Day 6: Kantala Camp to Suraithota to Joshimath
Distance: 11km trek, 5 hour drive
Trek back from Kantala Camp to Sraithota and then drive back to Joshimath which is a 5 hour long drive.

Day 7: Joshimath to Haridwar
Travel back from Joshimath to Haridwar and head on to your respective city as the trek ends here.
