The St. Paul’s Church in Mussoorie is located at a distance of 5 km from the Library Bus Stand near Char Dukan in Landour, Mussoorie. The church is an Anglican Church that was built in 1839 and first consecrated on 1st May 1840, by Bishop Daniel Wilson of Calcutta.
This church marks one of the old establishments as it dates backs to the British Era in India. Inside the church in its history you will find the records of the Revolt of 1857, as it was the first ever revolt by India against the British. The British considered this to be an insurrection. The church is a very scenic historical site located on the upper mall road of Mussoorie. It is a reminiscent of an era that stands tall in Landour.
The church has the capacity of seating a number of 250 people at once. It was the only Anglican Church in the Dehradun district. The St. Paul’s Church was specifically created for the British troops based in the Landour convalescent depot. The wooden benches, glass windows are all a glimpse of the times bygone. The St. Paul’s Church has been renovated a couple of years ago, the infrastructure has become even better and is a mesmerizing sight to look at and therefore a must visit in Landour.
