The restriction will apply to visitors, guides, drivers, and staff across all 15 tourism zones, including popular areas like Dhikala, Bijrani, and Jhirna. The move aims to improve visitor experience while ensuring the safety and well-being of wildlife.

Elephant Safaris Resume in Jim Corbett After 7 Years

Elephant safaris have resumed in Jim Corbett National Park after a seven-year hiatus, following the lifting of restrictions imposed by a 2018 Uttarakhand High Court order. The Corbett Tiger Reserve is also expected to follow suit, with safaris likely to restart in popular zones such as Bijrani and Dhikala.

The state forest department said the move will enable low-disturbance wildlife viewing while generating much-needed revenue for conservation efforts.

Safari will be closed in Jim Corbett from June 30, there will be no night stay from June 15

By the end of June, Jim Corbett Tiger Reserve of Uttarakhand will be closed due to monsoon. From June 15, night stay will be closed in all zones and Dhikala zone will also be closed. A three-day survey to count aquatic animals, including crocodiles, gharials, and otters, has commenced in the Kalagarh region of Corbett Tiger Reserve.

Fifth Tiger to Be Relocated from Corbett to Rajaji National Park

In a significant move for tiger conservation in Uttarakhand, preparations are complete to transfer the fifth tiger from Corbett Tiger Reserve (CTR) to Rajaji National Park in Dehradun. Previously, four tigers (two males and two females) were successfully relocated and have adapted well to their new habitat.

The Forest Department launched the Tiger Reintroduction Project in 2020, aiming to strengthen the tiger population in Rajaji while maintaining ecological balance. Officials confirm that the relocated tigers are thriving and breeding naturally, further supporting conservation efforts in the region.

Two new jungle safari routes in Uttarakhand started

In Uttarakhand, the new safari routes - Mohan range (Almora) & Kaladhungi heritage zone (Ramnagar) in Kumaon division- were opened by the forest department recently. Tourists can go for safari in both the new tourism zone. In both the new tourism zones, wildlife such as tigers, elephants, leopards, and deer may be sighted, apart from the world of birds and butterflies.

The most famous tourist zone of Jim Corbett Park, Dhikala, will also be opened for tourists on 15 November. From the same day, tourists will also be able to enjoy night stay in the rooms built in different tourist zones of the park.
