Sankri village of Uttarkashi is the base camp of this trek. Daily bus from Mussoorie bus stand Dehradun and taxi services are available from Dehradun to this village. Also the Dehradun ISBT Bus Terminal is well connected to all the roadways across the country. The well motorable roads from Dehradun to New Delhi and other metro cities make it very easy to travel to and from Dehradun.
By Air
The trek is accessible from Dehradun, you can easily reach at the Dehradun Airport, The Jolly Grant Airport. There are a number of flights from various metro cities like New Delhi, Mumbai, Lucknow and many places in the country that frequently travel to Dehradun. From where you can hire taxi or you can travel by bus to Sankri which is the base camp for this trek.
By Train
The Dehradun Railway Station is well connected to railway networks across the town; you can book your train beforehand according to your time suitability as there are frequent trains from New Delhi, Mumbai, Haridwar, Lucknow and many other metro cities to Dehradun. From Dehradun, use taxi, sharing tata sumos or direct buses to travel to the base camp Sankri.
