After receiving the green signal from National Tiger Conservation Authority of India, Kotdwar gate to Corbett National park has been opened by the chief minister of Uttarakhand on 27th of November, 2017. Earlier, the safari to Corbett National park was only accessible from Ramnagar area of Nainital district.

Kotdwar Gate Corbett in Corbett National Park

From Kotdwar, tourists can take entry from Haldukhal-Vatanbasa gate of Corbett. For tourists traveling from New Delhi towards Jim Corbett Park, the Vatanbasa Gate reduces the distance by 50 km. Since the major portion of the national park falls in the Garhwal region, Vatanvasa Gate is an entry point to the least explored region in the tiger reserve.

From the Vatanbasa Gate, tourist can opt for a wildlife safari to Sonanadi, Maidavan and Lotachaur region in the tiger reserve.  Wildlife safaris services have been started from Vatanbasa entry point. Six jeep safaris are scheduled to be in service daily from this entry point.

Location & How to Reach Kotdwar Gate Corbett

Kotdwara town is well connected by both national highway and railway treks. It is just 220km from national capital New Delhi and takes only 5 hours to reach. Accommodation facility is available at Kotdwara. Daily buses from Delhi are also available. From Kotdwara, you can book gypsy for your safari.
