Chandrabani is a famous temple located in the capital city of Dehradun which is dedicated to Goddess Chandrabani. Perched amidst the Shivalik hills in lush greenery, the temple is also locally known as Gautama Kund as it is believed that sage Gautama lived in the vicinity.
The temple is situated only 7km from the Dehradun Railway Station and is a popular pilgrimage destination in Dehradun for devotees and tourists.
According to popular beliefs, it is believed that sage Gautama along with his wife and daughter Anjani used to live at this holy place. Sage Gautama and his family were worshipped by the locals. Some folklore suggests that the mighty river Ganga manifested herself at this holy place at Gautama Kund nearby.
