Kedarnath Dham Yatra resumed with 11600 pilgrims left Sonprayag for the Dham

Kedarnath Dham After the improvement in the weather, more than 11600 pilgrims were allowed to visit Kedarnath Dham on Saturday. Due to rain for two days, the pilgrims were stopped at Sonprayag.

2 Golf carts reached Kedarnath Dham for elderly devotees will benefit

Following the arrival of the Thar vehicle, two golf carts have now also been brought to Kedarnath. These golf carts will provide significant assistance to elderly devotees visiting the shrine. The golf carts were transported to Kedarnath Dham this morning with the help of the Indian Air Force Chinook helicopter.

New route to Kedarnath found, - 2 Kms Shorter

A new trekking route is discovered, which will start from Chaumasi, 25 km away from Kalimath; it has more grasslands and less climbing. This trekking route will be 2 kms shorter.

Kedarnath Yatra Resumes by Helicopter Eight Days After Disaster

The Kedarnath Yatra resumed on August 8, eight days after the devastating disaster, with 18 devotees arriving on the first day. Currently, the pilgrimage is being conducted exclusively via helicopter service as reconstruction of the walking route continues at full speed.

The Yatra had been suspended on July 31 due to heavy rains and landslides, which caused severe damage to the Kedarnath walking route at over 13 locations. Record Shuttle Services for Kedarnath in First Phase of 2024

First phase of flights completed, helicopters of seven companies returned, record 10027 Kedarnath shuttles

In the first phase of the Kedarnat Yatra, from the inauguration of the gates on May 10 to June 20, in 42 days, a total of 56,110 pilgrims reached the Dham by these helicopters. While 56624 pilgrims returned after darshan. During this period, the helicopters made 10,027 shuttles, which is the highest compared to previous years.

Devotees are earnestly requested to adhere to these directives to uphold the sanctity of the temple. Furthermore, updated guidelines for the Chardham Yatra mandate registration and advocate for moderation to guarantee a secure and tranquil pilgrimage experience.

Chardham Yatra witnesses record-breaking registration of 15 Lakh participants in 10 Days

The Char Dham Yatra in Uttarakhand is set to commence on May 10, and even before its initiation, a record-breaking number of devotees have registered. According to the tourism department report, 494,129 registrations have been recorded for Kedarnath, 414,260 for Badrinath, 265,110 for Gangotri, 243,982 for Yamunotri, and 21,804 for Hemkund Sahib.

Kedarnath Shuttle Helicopter booking will start from 20 April 2024 on IRCTC Website

Tickets for helicopter bookings will become available on April 20, 2024, at 12:00 hours on the IRCTC Heli Yatra website. The journey period spans from May 10, 2024, to June 20, 2024, and later from September 15, 2024, to October 31, 2024, after the monsoon season. Snowfall Update - Snowfall in Chardham, Harsil on 02 Mar 2024

Around 6 inch snowfall recorded in Harsil on 02 Mar 2024. There has been snowfall in Harsil along with Char Dham in Uttarakhand and other high altitude. Though the Badrinath temple is closed for winters, the opening date of Badrinath has been announced.

Uttarakhand Snowfall Update 20 Feb 2024

Snowfall was reported on Monday in regions such as Kedarnath Dham, including Madmaheshwar, Tungnath, Chandrashila, etc. Additionally, light snowfall was observed in tourist spots like Chopta, Dugalbitta and in Deoriatal. 

The phenomenon extended to Gangotri and Yamunotri Dham, Harshil Valley, and other high-altitude areas of Uttarkashi. Despite the snowfall, road movements remained unaffected at present.

Kedarnath Records highest pilgrims footfall ever in 2023

This year in 2023, a record of 19.61 lakh pilgrims reached Kedarnath Dham. Badri Kedar Temple Committee has earned a revenue of Rs 70 crore in the last six months of the yatra season. The footfall is the highest that has been recorded till now.

Badrinath, Kedarnath temples will close at 4 pm on October 28 due to lunar eclipse

All temples governed by the Shri Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee, including the Badrinath and Kedarnath shrines, will observe closure at 4 pm on Saturday due to the lunar eclipse.

The Badrinath and Kedarnath temples are scheduled to reopen during the brahma muhurta after the morning purification puja on Sunday.

Other affiliated shrines affected by the closure include the Shri Narasingh Temple in Joshimath, Second Kedar Madmaheshwar, Third Kedar Tungnath, Shri Omkareshwar Temple in Ukhimath, and Yoga Badri.

Ropeway will be constructed for Kedarnath

The state government has approved construction of a ropeway to Kedarnath Temple. The DPR for Kedarnath Temple Ropeway has been prepared and it has estimated a cost of Rs. 1100 crores for the construction of Kedarnath Ropeway.
